my trip to the Philippines
on March 26, 2009, I went through my library looking for books to give to our Bible College
in Santa Rosa. Two books caught my immediate attention. One was America’s Last Call, written
by David Wilkerson in 1998, and the other was Days of Hunger, Days of Chaos,
authored by Texe Marrs in 1999. Both accurately
prophesied today’s financial crisis and predicted even worse events to
come. I recommend reading both books.
spoke of a worldwide financial collapse brought about by America’s greed and hunger for the
good life, and judgment that follows prosperity. The Bible shows that God gives His people
many warnings when they turn their backs to Him. Just before judgment and destruction, God
prospers the nation. Then judgment
comes. In the story of Noah, the people
danced, ate and drank, married and gave in marriage as if there was no tomorrow. Then the rains came. Prosperity is God’s last call to repentance.
the days of Isaiah, God gave Israel
unprecedented prosperity and the people only craved for more. God called the people to repentance and
instead, the people wanted more prosperity and turned their backs to God. And in
that day did the Lord God of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to
baldness, and to girding with sackcloth: and behold joy and gladness, slaying
oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink;
for to-morrow we shall die. Is.
Soon thereafter, Assyria

Jeremiah’s day, the lost books of the law were presented to King Josiah. He wept and rent his clothes. Josiah destroyed the temples to strange gods,
killed or exiled the priests of the high places and called for national
repentance. 2 Ki. Chapters 22 and
23. The people flocked to the
temples. A great revival took place, but
they never changed their ways. Great
prosperity came as the prophets and priests preached “Peace! Peace!”
Jer. 8:11. (One of the
definitions of peace in Strong’s Concordance is prosperity.) It was a false revival. “The
prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their own means; and My
people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” Jer. 5:31.
The prophets disregarded coming judgment and the priests (pastors)
preached a prosperity message instead of repentance. The people loved it! The priests became covetous and competed with
one another. Jer. 6:13.
wanted to kill Jeremiah when he told them that there was a war! Jer. 26:8, 11. They could not see their own sins. “Wherefore
hath the Lord pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our
iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?” Jer. 16:10.
In the end, God allowed Babylon to
completely destroy Judah. Although there was a semblance of revival, it
was only lip service. The people craved
the good times and refused to turn back to God.
Despite the fact that the temples were filled, God was displeased. “Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from
the fierceness of His great wrath, wherewith His anger was kindled against Judah,
because of all the provocations that Manassah had provoked Him withal.” 2 Ki. 23:26.
America has enjoyed
unprecedented prosperity the last fifty years, but turned her back to God at
the same time. She barred prayer from
schools, religion in public places, denied her Christian heritage, approved of
homosexuality, sexual impurity, same-sex marriages, abortion and adopted the
ways of the heathen. All the while, God
increasingly prospered America. Over 70% of Christians recently voted in
favor of politicians that approve of abortion, stem cell research on embryos,
same-sex marriage, homosexuality. They
didn’t care what the Bible says. All
they wanted was more prosperity and voted for those that promised a return to
the good times. The pastors preach
prosperity. They are greedy and
covetous, competing for the biggest church.
Big numbers mean wealth and success to them. Televangelists have become billionaires and pastors
have become rich – living in expensive penthouses, going first class, joining
country clubs, riding limousines. Some
own diamond mines, oil refineries, race horses and fine mansions. Judgment is around the corner.
not be persuaded by recent upward movements of the stock markets - temporary spikes
generated by the hundreds of billions of dollars of bailout money infused into
a staggering economy. America and the
world will seem to recover and the devices of men will appear to work. Do not be deceived. America and the world are in the
hands of God. He alone decides the
future of the world. All it takes is one
major calamity and the world will be in worse shape than ever before.
the end, all the prophecies in the Bible concerning God’s judgment on America
and the world will come to pass. The
four dreaded horsemen of the Apocalypse are about to come thundering down upon
the earth and its inhabitants. Rev. 6:1-8. A false savior will come to rescue the world
but will fail. Rev. 6:2. In the beginning the New World Order or
Global Government will succeed, but in the end there will be wars and famines
and pestilences never before seen on the face of the earth. One-fourth of mankind will die. Rev. 6:8.
God is going to use the designs and schemes of evil men to sift His
people and separate the chaff from the wheat.
We can rely on the Bible to give us an accurate account of the
future. No matter what mankind does,
judgment is imminent.
Marrs points to a conspiracy that has deliberately taken control over the food
supplies of the world. The New World
Order owns over 95% of the seeds used to grow wheat, rice and other food
staples. They have eliminated natural
and original seeds from the marketplace and replaced them with hybrid seeds
good for only one crop at a time.
Farmers all over the world are not able to replant crops by reserving a
portion of the harvest as they did before.
They are forced to buy seeds from designated sources. In addition, patent rights have been taken
out on just about every crop producing seed or natural product. Many governments, including the United States,
have passed laws that control farmers’ rights to grow what they want and in the
quantities they want. Vast areas of land
are now designated as “no grow” zones. Our
food supplies are under the almost total control of a power-hungry central
to Marrs, members of the New World Order have purchased and now control over
95% of the warehouses, processing plants, transportation facilities,
supermarkets, fertilizer companies, and just about every aspect of the food
chain. History shows that evil people
have committed mass murders or genocides by depriving the people of food. It is about to happen again; this time in America
and all over the world. In the end, only
those with the mark of the beast will have access to food.
A FALSE FAITH
have read the argument that God will not visit His wrath upon His people and He
will protect them from harm. Others
claim that all we have to do is have faith in God and we will make it through. While in general it is true, what they don’t
tell you is that the Bible says that there is going to be a great falling away
from the faith before Jesus comes back.
2 Th. 2:3. Many Christians will
not be able to stand against the great persecutions and trials and will succumb
to the deceptions of the enemy. Bible
history shows that God will judge His people.
faith in God is not a simple matter. Many
claim faith in God; but in reality, most have very little faith, if at all. Jesus’ admonition to “Seek ye first the kingdom
of God and His
righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you,” (Mt. 6:33),
has never become a living reality for most Christians. The overwhelming majority still trust only in
their own abilities and strengths to provide their needs. They cannot find time to serve God and not
enough money left over to pay tithes and offerings. They spend precious little time coming to
church because they cannot rely on God to provide for mortgages, food and
clothing. They simply don’t trust God
enough so “seek ye first the kingdom

just talked with someone in a large church and she informed me that her church
is now engaged in a program to save food, water and other supplies. Some of our people are also into survival
programs. But the only thing that will
save you in the end is a strong, abiding faith and trust in God. Letting go of the world and trusting God for
everything is the only survival technique that will work in the end. All your self-preparations will fail. They will last for only a short time. When others find out that you have supplies,
they will come knocking on your door.
