Binding And Loosing

BINDING AND LOOSING

By Dr. Richard Ing

There are many wonderful and fabulous preachers and speakers in the body of Christ; but unless you take the responsibility of looking up many of the scriptures they recite to back up their "truths," you will be deceived.  Be as the noble Bereans.  "These (the Christians in Berea) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."  Ac. 17:11.

So many politicians and Christians blame the government, society, our educational system, liberals, conservatives, television, class war with rich versus poor, and so forth, for the ills of society and in our world today.  But the Bible says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high place."  Eph. 6:12.  It is not only flesh that we fight; we war against Satan's kingdom.

A great part of Jesus' ministry on earth was the casting out of devils.  In the Book of Acts, we find Christians warring against demonic forces and casting out unclean spirits.  Ac. 5:16; 8:7.  Many of the miraculous healings that took place were through the casting out of devils.

The Lord Jesus taught us that we must first bind up Satan's strong men that rule from the mid-heavens (high places, principalities and powers) before we can defeat the unclean spirits on earth working among men.  Mt. 12:29; Mk. 3:27; Lk. 11:21.  "Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man?  and then he will spoil his house."  Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air."  Eph. 2:2.

The key to taking the kingdoms of this earth and handing them over to Jesus is the power to bind and loose.  "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."  Mt. 16:19; 18:18.

How do you bind and loose?  Simply pray in similar manner the following:  "In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, I bind up the spirit of Greed, Hatred, etc..  I take chains from heaven and bind you up hand and foot.  The Word of God says that whatsoever I bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven; whatsoever I loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.  I loose the captives and set them free.  I thank you Jesus.  Amen."

It is the power of God that does it, not you or me.  To God be all the glory!  The Word of God never comes back void.  "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."  Lk. 10:19.  Do not be afraid.  "Only be thou strong and very courageous."  Joshua 1:7, 9.  Let us take the kingdoms of this world for the kingdom of God.  Rev. 11:15.  God is calling His army at this very moment.
